Hop-on Hop-off sightseeing bus


The air-conditioned, wheelchair accessible ‘blue’ Bondi Explorer stops at 19 of Sydneys most picturesque harbour locations and surf beaches. Travelling along a 30km circuit through Sydney’s affluent Eastern suburbs, including cosmopolitan Double Bay, Watson's Bay and Sydney's famous Bondi Beach.

This service allows you to sit back and relax as you explore the rugged coastline and golden sands of Tamarama, Bronte and Coogee Beaches.

Each Sydney Explorer includes on-board commentary detailing the attractions near each stop for you to explore at your leisure.

Tickets include unlimited travel on both the Sydney Explorer and the Bondi Explorer as well as regular Sydney Buses services in the Blue TravelPass zone.  Tickets are valid until 4am on the following day.

Your Explorer ticket also entitles you to fantastic discount offers at a variety of attractions and venues on route.

If you are in Sydney for more than a couple of days, a SydneyPass is a cost effective way to see all the sights of Sydney

Notes:

  • Valid until 31 March 2009 (all prices in Australian Dollars)
  • Children under 4 travel free.
  • A child is anyone from the age of 4 to 15.
  • A family ticket is defined as 2 adults and any number of children from the same family.

Frequency, timetable and where to board

Bondi Explorer bus stops are identified by a distinctive blue Explorer sign.

The interval between services is approximately 30 minutes and you can board the bus at any stop along the route.

The first departure from Circular Quay is at 8:45am and the last is at 4.15pm. The last service will return you to Circular Quay at 6:15pm.

If you prefer to stay on the bus, the full circuit takes around 2 hours to complete.

In Sydney

If you are already in Sydney, there is no need to book, just hop on board and buy your ticket from the Explorer driver or visit one of our TransitShops.

  • Selected Travel Agents and Information Kiosks
